5-Axis CNC Production Machining

We can machine materials ranging from titanium, stainless, Inconel, polycarbonate, PVC, ABS and PEEK.

There are a multitude of benefits to having parts machined on a 5-Axis machining center versus a standard 3-axis machining center including:

1. Most parts can be machined complete in one set-up.

• This reduces cycle time and increases parts produced per shift.
• Accuracy of part details located on various sides or planes is improved.
• Smaller diameter cutters can be used to reach fine details that would be difficult or impossible to achieve on a standard 3-axis machine.

2. Highly contoured close tolerance surfaces can be machined effortlessly.

• Shorter end mills can be used allowing for reduced cutter deflection for increased accuracy and seamless blends of complex surfaces.
• Shorter end mills allow for faster stock removal during the rough machining phase.
• Undercuts that would have been difficult or impossible to machine using a standard 3-axis machine can now be machined easily.

3. Holes or features that must be at compound angles to each other are easily drilled or machined with outstanding accuracies.

• Set-ups between complex details that would take hours, and require special fixtures in a standard 3-axis machine, are reduced to literally a few seconds.
